The 2009 SPLOST Program will run from April 1, 2009 through March 31, 2014. $717.2 million will be distributed for Gwinnett County projects and $132.8 million will be dispersed for use in each municipality. Projects focused on traffic reduction and transportation flow will be of top priority, as will others relating to public safety, recreation, libraries and court facilities. Because projects are selected and prioritized by citizen advisory groups as monies are collected exact projects have yet to be defined for the 2009 SPLOST Program. Department directors at both the county and the city levels are working diligently to prepare recommended projects to present for consideration once the 2009 SPLOST Program has voter approval.
